[Mohammed Kudus](/topic/mohammed-kudus) was also not seen training with the squad at Hotspur Way.

But the summer signing is scheduled to sit alongside his manager at the pre-match press conference later on Monday, suggesting he will feature on Tuesday evening.

It remains to be seen if Spence’s absence is injury-related, having shown frustrations when walking off the pitch on Saturday evening.

The Spurs boss was seen glaring back at the pair, while set-piece coach Andreas Georgson was also unsuccessful in trying to keep Van de Ven on the pitch. Asked about the incident shortly afterwards, Frank told reporters: “I think that is one of the small issues ... everyone is frustrated. We do things in a different way, so I don’t think it is a big problem.”

Left-back Destiny Udogie returned from injury against Chelsea, so he is now expected to start against Copenhagen.

The possible absence of Kudus would be a significant blow for Spurs, having been the club’s most potent attacking option so far this season.
