The Cincinnati Bengals could not escape another close heartbreak on this Sunday, and the last-minute fallout hit like a Category 5 hurricane. Running back Chase Brown bluntly blamed the defense that allowed Bears quarterback Caleb Williams to take control with just 17 seconds remaining.

Frustration is now mounting in the offensive locker room section against the front seven, as their running back and wide receiver have already given up on the defense following the team’s second straight close defeat.

Joe Flacco threw for a career-high 470 yards and four touchdowns, while Chase Brown added 112 yards on 19 touches, doing his best to keep the team competitive. The offense also scored late to take a 42-41 lead with 54 seconds remaining. All they needed was one stop, but they didn’t get it.
Williams connected with rookie tight end Colston Loveland for a 58-yard touchdown, ending Cincinnati’s comeback instantly. Brown didn’t hold back his words afterward, publicly calling out the defensive unit that has become their Achilles’ heel.
🚨🚨THIS IS CRAZY🚨🚨#Bengals star running back Chase Brown went crazy post-game, ripping the team’s defense for today’s loss.
“What the f*ck… Finish the f*cking game.”
You rarely ever see a player talk about his teammates like this.

“We just got to play complementary football,” Brown told reporters postgame. “We put the ball in the end zone and go up a point at the end, finish the fcking game. Just end it. That’s it. That’s what we need to do. Just end the f—– game. Make them get us the ball back, let us f—– go to 22-victory, and let’s end the game.”
Their math is not mathign here. They have scored 80 points at home in back-to-back weeks and came away with zero wins. When your offense hangs 42 on the board and you still lose, that’s not the problem with the attack. It is the front seven who stop the other team.
However, Brown sounds positive about their offensive section. He said the attack has been getting better, which is a good sign. He mentioned that they’re focusing on what they can control and will continue to do their part to help the team.
Ja’Marr Chase Also Gave Up on the Team’s Defense
Ja’Marr Chase was right there with Brown in the frustration department.
As he walked through the tunnel after the game, cameras caught him muttering, “One f——- stop,” and who he blamed became clear shortly after. When he reached the locker room, the All-Pro receiver tried to pump the brakes on his earlier outburst.
“I’ve never been in this situation. I don’t know how to handle it. Trying to stay positive,” Ja’Marr told reporters.

When asked directly about the defense, Chase chose his words carefully.
“It’s not fun when you’re losing. I’m going to stay in my lane,” Chase said. “I don’t want no defensive players coming chew me out about what the f*ck I’m doing.”
He is essentially saying he’s not touching that third rail because he doesn’t want defensive players to retaliate for offensive mistakes. It’s the kind of passive-aggressive statement that screams locker room tension.
