The question is inescapable, and it popped up even before Jayden Daniels braced himself before he hit the turf and writhed around in pain. Sunday night was already embarrassing. The Washington Commanders trailed by 31 points. There was half a quarter to play — the dictionary definition of garbage time. In a season that has slipped away, Daniels remains a rare combination of shiny star and granite foundation for Washington.
