With the win, the Seahawks improved to 6-2 and kept pace with the Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the best record in the NFC. They also remained tied atop the NFC West with the Rams.
Here are the instant reactions to Sunday’s game from some of the voices of Seattle Sports, including Seahawks Radio Network analyst Dave Wyman’s thoughts in the video at the top of this post.

Absolute destruction in front of the entire country. There better be some national respect coming after the Seahawks completely took apart Washington in every phase of the game.
You want offense? There was plenty of it. How about Sam Darnold’s first half? He went 16 of 16 for 282 yards with four TDs, no interceptions and a passer rating of 158.3. That is perfect.
You want defense? Plenty more. Sacks, pressures, run stopping, turnovers – they did it all and sent a message to the rest of the league that this is a serious unit.
And special teams chipped in with a turnover to set up another TD.
That was as complete a victory as you will ever see in this league, and the sky is now the limit for a fun, feisty group that is starting to believe that it is good enough to think big this season.

Bob Stelton – Wyman & Bob (2-7 p.m. weekdays)
Was this the most complete effort we’ve seen from the Seahawks so far this season? Hard to argue against that! Certainly it was the greatest first half of football we’ve seen from this team in a number of years. What they did in that first half was unbelievable.
And I would think by this point that even the most staunch critic or skeptic of Sam Darnold (which I most certainly was) has to finally admit that this guy is just a really good quarterback. He was 21 of 24 for 330 yards, four touchdowns and one interception, and he didn’t even play the entire game.
The defense once again played a spectacular game, shutting down any hope Washington had of getting back into it.
Throw in a great night from special teams, and these are the kind of results you get.
The Seahawks are in the part of their schedule where they can truly take advantage of some teams that are clearly not playing on their level right now. And what seems abundantly clear is that this team takes the field every game expecting to win regardless of the opponent. The confidence they are playing with right now is very apparent.
Now all we need to see is for them to start playing like this at home and we are looking at a legit Super Bowl contender!
The Seahawks have firmly established themselves among the best teams in the NFC and made a resounding statement on national TV about what is ultimately possible for this season.
Sam Darnold was literally perfect in the first half and is playing like one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. This feels like the perfect blend between quarterback, system and receiver with how well Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Darnold have been able to thrive week in and week out.
It was also thoroughly impressive how the defense was able to step up without safety Julian Love and with linebacker Ernest Jones IV leaving in the first half. If there is any reason for concern, it’s the injuries to key players on that side of the ball. However, the defensive line continues to assert its will, which could go a long way over the next two weeks in key divisional games against the Cardinals and Rams.
Like he KNEW it was coming. 🙂↔️ @tyokada INT!
