Former Barcelona star Oriol Romeu has this week secured a return to the game.
This comes amid confirmation of the experienced midfielder agreeing on the terms of a contract with English outfit Southampton.
In a return to St. Mary’s for Romeu, as confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano (citing info from Gerard Romero), the Spaniard is primed to link up with Southampton as a free agent through the summer of 2026.
The deal also features an option to extend for a further 12 months.

Romeu has for his part been without a club since back in September.
After it was made clear to the 34-year-old that he did not feature in the plans of Barcelona boss Hansi Flick for the season ahead, the Camp Nou brass were hopeful of securing a cut-price sale.
In the end, however, a lack of suitors left the Blaugrana with little choice but to terminate Romeu’s contract.
