Florida State offered Damaad Lewis, a three-star defensive lineman out of Charlotte, North Carolina, a scholarship back in July.
The Seminoles immediately became a player in his recruitment -- but Lewis didn't make it to Tallahassee until this past weekend surrounding FSU's game against Wake Forest.
Spending multiple days on campus for his official visit, Lewis exited the trip feeling great about the 'Noles and where they stand in his recruitment.
"It was amazing spending time with the coaches, players and staff. It was good -- I'm rocking with it," Lewis said coming out of the visit.
The 6-foot-4, 245-pound defensive lineman loved the environment inside of Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday night and felt like FSU looked more like an undefeated team than one that is 4-4 on the season.
"Liked the environment, the atmosphere. Don't even look like a 4-4 team out there. They look undefeated. All the players, the sideline, the way they just bond with each other," he said of the game.
He concluded his visit with a meeting with head coach Mike Norvell.
"He's just being real with me. Telling me what to expect if I come here. What the goals are, what the expectation is," he said of Norvell's message to him.
Where do the 'Noles stack up in his recruitment following this visit?
"They're most definitely top three," Lewis claimed of FSU.
NC State hosted him for an official visit over the summer and Nebraska had him on campus for an official visit in October. He plans to take an unofficial visit to LSU for their upcoming game against Arkansas on November 15. Lewis says he is done taking official visits from here on out.
He plans to make a decision after his high school football season concludes.
As a senior, Lewis is credited with 32 total tackles, seven TFLs and four sacks per MaxPreps.
Lewis ranks as the No. 51 defensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class by 247Sports. He holds a high three-star grade of '89' per the Top247.
His older brother, Damien Lewis was a starter on the 2019 LSU National Championship team and is now with the Seattle Seahawks.
