Matt LaFleur Reveals Honest Thoughts About Loss To Panthers

The Green Bay Packers weren’t expected to suffer another tough loss.

Despite being favored by nearly two touchdowns, they played another sloppy and over-conservative game on offense and lost to the Carolina Panthers.

Afterward, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur tipped his hat to the visitors, but he also admitted that his team didn’t do a good job.

“Give credit to Carolina. They had to play in order to beat us in regards to trying to run the football consistently throughout the course of the game and just make us dink and dunk the ball down the field. Played good defense in the red zone. We had two turnovers. Missed a field. We did enough things. We deservedly got our a** beat,” LaFleur said.

This has happened too many times under LaFleur.

He gets too conservative, doesn’t seem to trust quarterback Jordan Love, and the Packers are in tight games against lesser teams as a result.

Perhaps it’s time LaFleur gives up playcalling.

This is his offense, and it’s a stacked unit that uses plenty of motion.

Then again, calling screen passes on third-and-long isn’t going to get the job done.

The Panthers deserve all the credit in the world for playing the type of scrappy game they had to play.

But there was no excuse for the Packers not to come out with a win.

Things won’t get any easier in Week 10, as they host the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Maybe the Packers were just caught looking ahead to a tougher opponent.

Regardless of what happened, they will have to do much better if they don’t want this game to turn ugly quickly.
