NFL fans tuning in to watch the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs' Sunday clash were left distracted by color analyst Tony Romo making weird noises on the broadcast.
Having had their season ended in heartbreaking fashion last year by the Chiefs, the Bills defeated Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs 28-21, in a game that saw Josh Allen make NFL history.

Elsewhere during the week nine action, Aaron Rodgers admitted he and his teammates need to play better despite beating the in-form Indianapolis Colts, while Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a serious injury to his non-throwing arm in their Monday night defeat to the Seattle Seahawks.

Breaking down a pass play during the action at Orchard Park on Sunday, alongside broadcast partner Jim Nantz, Romo decided to launch into making a weird and awkward noise, which left fans at home confused.
A video of the moment posted on X by 'Awful Announcing' showed Mahomes stepping up in the pocket to scramble after his receivers had Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice had been held by Bills defenders.
"You'll see right here, hold, and then another hold right there," Romo said.

However, the former NFL quarterback then continued, adding: "I think it was..." before trailing off into a weird groan that left fans confused by what they were listening to.
"Tony Romo is once again making some highly suspect sounds," wrote one fan on X.
A second added: "the downfall of tony romo’s broadcasting career should be studied."

A third wrote: "Romo is the worst. He was a bit different and knew his first year. Since then it’s been a steady decline I honestly mute his games and watch only on my secondary tv."
A fourth commented: "In the beginning, he sounds like he’s holding in a s---, and at the end he sounds like he’s releasing it."
And a fifth said: "Actually insufferable to listen to, it’s instant mute whenever he’s calling a Chiefs game."

Unfortunately, for some AFC fans who dislike Romo's style of commentary, which has shifted significantly since he first entered the booth back in 2017 following his retirement after playing for the Dallas Cowboys, CBS is contractually tied to that conference, which is why Allen and Mahomes' matchups feature him and Nantz on the call.
And they will have to put up with Romo for some time, too.
Back in 2020, Romo inked a monstrous 10-year, $180 million deal to stay with CBS, meaning he still has plenty of time left on his contract to call AFC games alongside Nantz.
