After a difficult start to the new season, Endrick looks to be on the verge of leaving Real Madrid, albeit on a temporary deal.

The Brazilian international has been closely linked with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu, having failed to muster a single minute of action this season.

Lyon have emerged as one of the top contenders to sign Endrick, and although other clubs are interested, it appears the French club are on the brink of a major breakthrough.

Endrick decides to join Lyon

According to L’Equipe, Endrick has decided to join Lyon in the upcoming January transfer window.

The striker has recently spoken to Lyon manager Paulo Fonseca and is fully convinced of the Lyon project. He is ready to join the French team despite receiving dozens of other offers.

This is a major development and could be a vital step forward as Endrick looks to secure a loan move to France.

It must be noted that there is no deal between Real Madrid and Lyon just yet and there are still talks left between the two clubs.

Endrick, for his part, is pushing hard for a move, knowing Lyon could be an ideal club for him to continue his progress during the second half of the season.

It was reported in the past that Endrick is determined to make a name for himself at Real Madrid. But for the time being, he is keen on securing a place in the Brazilian national team, for which he needs to play regularly.

Lyon, to that end, could hand him the ideal platform to showcase his ability at the highest level of football, which in turn could potentially land him a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s final squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
