BEREA -- The Browns. are looking for some help at wide receiver and hope that they will get some as they are hopeful to get wide receiver Cedric Tillman back as he returned to practice after missing the last four weeks on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

On Monday morning, the Browns designated Tillman for a return to practice, which he did.

A player designated for return has 21 days to be activated or must remain on the reserve list for the remainder of the season.

"It was frustrating," Tillman said after practice on Monday. "Obviously, it's tough watching. I want to help the team out, but I'm back now. I'm going to do everything I can to stay healthy for this team, for this organization and give him (my) all."

Kevin Stefanski was asked if he expected Tillman to return for the next game after the bye.

"I thought Ced looks really good," Stefanski said after practice on Monday. " I think he's worked very hard in his rehab so he looks like he'll be good to go. Barring anything coming up this week."

Tillman had 11 receptions for 106 yards (9.6 avg.) and two touchdowns in the first four games. He had one touchdown in each of the first two games.

Stefanski thinks the return of Tillman can be a big boost in the passing game.

"Obviously Ced's a good player," he said. "He has made a lot of plays for us over his career, so it would be a big boost if we can get him out there."

Tillman has been sidelined by injuries in his first three seasons, missing 13 games, but is hoping to add a spark to the passing game, which has struggled in the first eight games.

"As a competitor, it's definitely frustrating," he said. "But I know all the ball catchers are frustrated. so obviously I'm gonna do what I do. like I said, I try to play my hardest 100 percent, but as a team we all just have to execute."

In his three seasons with the Browns, Tillman has 61 receptions for 669 yards (11.0 avg.) with five touchdowns. In 2024, Tillman had 29 receptions for 339 yards, including three touchdowns in 11 games.

Tillman was a third-round draft choice from Tennessee in the 2023 NFL Draft.
