David Moyes about to do West Ham a massive favour in January | Report

Everton supporters are -anecdotally – starting to fret about [David Moyes,](https://www.claretandhugh.info/david-moyes-highlights-the-nuno-factor-already-at-work-at-west-ham/) so soon after his second coming to the Merseyside club. _One win in their last six_ is not, perhaps, how the Toffees fans were dreaming this season would pan out after Moyesie spent something approaching £100 million in the summer window.

If the stories coming across our desk today are true, there’s a very good chance that those same Everton fans are going to become a little more restless in January with their Manager seemingly hell – bent on repeating the self-same mistake he made at West Ham: Reportedly, David Moyes wants to sign James Ward-Prowse!

A [_Goodisonnews.com_](https://www.goodisonnews.com/2025/11/03/james-ward-prowse-backed-to-join-forces-with-david-moyes-the-perfect-club-for-him-in-january-would-be-everton/) _‘Exclusive’_ this afternoon trumpets the headline:

_“James Ward-Prowse backed to join forces with David Moyes: ‘The perfect club for him in January would be Everton…_ _Everton to eye Ward-Prowse swoop as West Ham want sale:_

Hammers fans could but hope that this turns out to be true.

Prepare the David Moyes statue in the Olympic Park if that deal comes off! However, reading further, it turns out merely to be an opinion from an ex-Everton Scout Bryan King:

_“Ex-Everton scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to **Goodison News** – believes that Ward-Prowse could be a perfect option for the Toffees:_

_“A move to Everton would certainly give him a new lease of life,”_ King said. _He’s too good a player to be left out of that West Ham team.”_ Sorry? ‘Too good a player?”

And that there is where the ‘report’ lost its credibility. Sadly, from West Ham’s point of view the chances of David Moyes’ Everton  actually submitting a  bid together seems moderate to zero  and based solely on an Ex-Scout’s outdated opinion of an outdated player who might have been decent five years ago.

Rats. I was just getting my hopes up that the £100k a week – plus  ‘JWP’ might be on his way.
