Marvin Harrison Sr. Doesn't Hold Back on Cardinals' Offense

Marvin Harrison Sr. is having a hard time watching his son play in Jonathan Gannon’s Arizona Cardinals offense.

The Cardinals are 2-5 as they enter Monday night’s primetime Week 9 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, losing each of their last five games. Through the team’s first seven games of the 2025 NFL season, Arizona ranks bottom half of the league in both yards per game (310.3) and points per game (21.9).

Harrison Sr., a Hall of Fame wide receiver, made his opinion of the Cardinals’ offense very clear during a recent interview with ESPN.

“It’s very hard for me to watch the Cardinals’ offense,” Harrison Sr. said, via ESPN. “And you can quote me on that.”

“The style of offense that I am accustomed to, that I’m used to watching as a professional eye, as a wide receiver … I just can’t relate to watching that [current] offense, that style of offense. Basically, I can’t relate to what goes on there.

“I think that’s just peacefully put, without pointing fingers or anything. It’s just me. I’m giving you the professional eye. I can’t relate to it. It don’t add up to me. I can’t deal with it.”

Harrison Jr. entered the league as the Cardinals’ No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 draft. Through 17 games in his rookie season, the former Ohio State standout reeled in 62 catches for 885 yards and eight touchdowns - failing to reach the sky-high expectations set out in front of him.

Through seven games this year, Harrison Jr. has just 24 catches for 396 yards and two touchdowns.

Backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett will get his third consecutive start for the Cardinals on Monday night as Kyler Murray continues to deal with the foot sprain he suffered in Week 5.

If there was ever a time to get the Cardinals’ offense back on track, it’s against the Cowboys defense. Dallas has one of the worst defenses in the league, allowing 404.6 yards and 31.3 points per game - leading only the Cincinnati Bengals in both categories.

Monday night’s Cardinals-Cowboys matchup will kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET.
