Cleveland Browns could remove a problem from their roster at the NFL trade deadline

The Browns are a problem child of the NFL, and they usually have a problem with someone. From Baker Mayfield to Myles Garrett and beyond, they have never seemed to get it right.

Well, the buck doesn’t stop there.

After trading for him in 2024, Jerry Jeudy was supposed to be a weapon for the Browns during the experiment of Deshaun Watson. This never panned out, really, and he has been almost irrelevant this year. This has fans clamoring for a trade.

Who would be a suitable trade partner for them?

None other than the Jacksonville Jaguars. They need another wide receiver while Travis Hunter is on Injured Reserve and Brian Thomas Jr deals with his own issues.

Jeudy could come in and immediately command touches, which may open up the ability to use Travis Ettienne more and give Parker Washington fewer double coverages.

He still has good hands to make contested catches, but when he has been in two different systems that never really wanted him, it’s hard to think he would play better.

What doesn’t make it any better is that Browns QB Dillion Gabriel doesn’t even look his way, even when he’s open. Plus, they’re getting Cedric Tillman back from his injury, which should be a sign that they are done with him.

What would this cost the Jags?

At most, maybe a sixth-round pick next year. It wouldn’t take much to acquire his services, especially when Cleveland wants him gone.

A change in scenery might be exactly what Jeudy needs to reinvent himself. He played at Alabama, where it’s warm. Then went to the NFL to two cold and wet climates, so maybe some southern heat might warm him up.

Now, if the Jags want to hold on to the opportunity to control the AFC South, they need to get Trevor Lawrence someone to throw to because he can’t keep doing what he did last week versus the Raiders.
