Sean Combs, AKA Diddy, has been hanging out with NBA star Sebastian Telfair now that he is imprisoned at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. One of them, however, will be there much longer than the other.

The two know each other from Sebastian Telfair’s time in the NBA and the fact that they both grew up in New York. Diddy attended Mount Saint Michael Academy in the Bronx and is a big NBA fan. Several years later, Telfair went to Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn. Telfair is also the cousin of former NBA player Stephon Marbury, who attended the same high school as Sebastian.

According to TMZ, who obtained and published photos on Monday of Diddy and Telfair talking in the prison yard, they are the most famous inmates doing time at FCI Fort Dix. Sebastian Telfair’s publicist confirmed that his client was indeed speaking with Diddy in the photos.

Sebastian Telfair and Diddy have very different prison sentences

Telfair, like his cousin Marbury, was a first-round pick in the NBA straight out of high school. Unfortunately, he is now in prison after failing to follow some rather simple instructions. In 2021, the former point guard was one of 18 former NBA players who were arrested for fraud. He was given a suspended prison sentence and did not have to serve time as long as he followed the very easy to follow rules of his release. He didn’t, so now he has at least three more months behind bars.

Sean Combs, on the other hand, was sentenced to 50 months in prison after being convicted of two counts of violating the Mann Act. On Monday, he had his request for an expedited appeals process approved by a judge. TMZ reports that his judicial timeline now looks like this: his opening brief is due by December 23, the government’s response is due by February 20, Diddy’s reply is due by March 13, and then, assuming no delays along the way, oral arguments should be heard by the court as early as April 2026.

Diddy’s current scheduled date of release is May 8, 2028. In the meantime, he will be keeping himself busy doing work around the prison, including washing and drying clothes in the prison laundry room.
