Despite the skid, the Reds are still third in the Premier League table, tied with Bournemouth on 18 points and just one point behind Manchester City.
Liverpool trounced Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 last time out in the Champions League, and sit 10th in the standings with six points through three games.
Real Madrid and Liverpool have faced each other on 12 previous occasions, with the Spaniards winning seven of them and Liverpool claiming four. The Scousers won the last contest 2-0 just last year, but failed to win the previous eight games before then — including the 2017-18 Champions League final.
