**Newcastle United were given a home tie against Fulham for the Carabao Cup quarter-final after beating Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday last week.**
Having just beaten Fulham on the Saturday before, it felt like a pretty good tie to have been handed. Only really, Cardiff City would have felt like the easiest possible draw.
Of course, the Magpies are looking to retain their title as League Cup champions and a win against Fulham in the next round would place them in the draw for the two-legged semi-finals.
Sky Sports will show every game of the quarter finals, with ITV selecting two games to also broadcast live on their free-to-air service.

Newcastle handed an 8:15 pm kick-off time in the Carabao Cup quarter finals
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Newcastle's tie against Fulham will take place on Wednesday, 17th December, with an awkward kick-off time of 8:15 pm as confirmed in this statement from the EFL:
> "The schedule for the Quarter-Finals of the Carabao Cup has been confirmed. Every tie will be shown live on Sky Sports, with two matches also selected for free-to-air coverage on ITV."On Tuesday, 16 December, Cardiff City host Premier League Chelsea live on Sky Sports Football at 8pm."There are two clashes on Wednesday, 17 December, as Manchester City host Brentford live on Sky Sports Football at 7.30pm, and holders Newcastle United entertain Fulham on Sky Sports Main Event and ITV at 8.15pm.

> "The final tie between Arsenal and Crystal Palace will take place on Tuesday, 23 December, live on Sky Sports Football and ITV at 8pm"
Will Newcastle be in the semi-final draw again this year?
---------------------------------------------------------
The tie between Arsenal and Palace has been put back a week due to both teams competing in Europe this season, with the EFL bemoaning the lack of consultation with domestic cup schedulers when demanding the European fixtures.
We're not currently sure whether the semi-final draw will have to wait until after that game is played or if it will take place after the games are played on Wednesday, 17th. It would make more sense to wait until all teams have played.
Let's hope we still have a vested interest in the draw by that point.
