The Arizona Cardinals will once again be without quarterback Kyler Murray and running back Trey Benson for the Week 9 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Murray has been dealing with a foot injury that has kept him out for three games in a row when you include Monday night, and while he was given a questionable for Week 9, the Cardinals announced Jacoby Brissett will get the start again.
Benson hasn't suited up in a game since Week 4 after he landed on injured reserve with a knee injury, which forced him to sit out at least four games.
So, when can the Cardinals expect two of their most important playmakers on offense? Here's what we know.
When is Kyler Murray coming back?
Murray's status remains up in the air for Week 10, but there have been a few positive signs that he could return then.
For starters, Murray has been practicing on a limited basis, so it's clear his foot injury isn't anything serious. Adding to that, the fact that Arizona didn't place him on injured reserve suggests they expect him back after a three-game absence.
Then, there's this comment from head coach Jonathan Gannon, who noted that Murray is "getting better," and he also acknowledged that he isn't ruling out Arizona's quarterback having a role on Monday night.
"He is getting better," he said. "He's had some more work this last week, but like I said, he's just not ready to go yet. But as far as, obviously, that position's a little bit different because you got to have a plan ready. That's why I'm just saying Jacoby's starting, but if [Murray] can have a role, he can have a role, but you take it one day at a time.
"But I know he wants to be out there and he is doing everything he can. It's just he's not quite there yet."
At this point, we would say there's a good chance Murray returns for next week's game, although many have wondered if the Cardinals are planning to make a quarterback change to Brissett full time.
That remains to be seen.
When is Trey Benson coming back?
When the Cardinals play the Cowboys on Monday night, it will be the fourth game Benson misses, which means he is eligible to be activated off IR this coming week.
Of course, that doesn't mean it's going to happen and there hasn't been any indication one way or the other what the Cardinals will do with their back.
That said, there is at least a chance he's ready to return to action in Week 10.
