Jayden Daniels injury update: Superstar QB goes down against Seahawks

After putting together a sensational rookie NFL campaign last season, Jayden Daniels' sophomore season has been plagued by injuries. Daniels missed Washington's Week 3 and 4 games with a knee sprain, and suffered a leg injury in Week 7 against the Cowboys. After missing Week 8 against the Chiefs, Daniels made his return to the field on Sunday night against the Seahawks.

Unfortunately, Daniels suffered yet another injury on Sunday. Here's the latest on the situation.

Jayden Daniels injury update:

With the Commanders trailing 38-7 with under 8 minutes to go in the 4th quarter, Daniels was sacked by Seattle's Drake Thomas. Daniels was twister to the ground by Thomas and his left arm got caught on the ground behind him as he went down. It was a nasty looking injury, and Daniels required immediate medical attention on the field. He was then helped off the field and went to the locker room with a brace on his left arm.

Daniels never returned to the field, and while an official update has yet to be provided, it looks like this injury has the potential to be significant. Before suffering the injury, Daniels completed 16 of his 22 pass attempts for 153 yards with zero touchdowns and an interception. He ran for 51 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.

Things never went well for the Commanders on Sunday night, as the Seahawks rolled out to a 31-7 lead at halftime. The game was never really in doubt, as Seattle dominated from the very first play of the game en route to a 38-14 win.

Why Daniels was even still in the game is a question Commanders head coach Dan Quinn is going to have to answer. The game was well out of reach late in the 4th quarter, and Daniels was already dealing with multiple injuries from earlier this season. There was no reason to have him still out there, and now the franchise QB is suffering yet another injury. Washington's next game is on Sunday, Nov. 9 against the Lions. Backup QB Marcus Mariota figures to get the start if Daniels is unable to go.
