Scoot Henderson's third season with the Portland Trail Blazers has yet to get off the ground.
The talented guard remains sidelined as the Blazers get a national spotlight in a broadcast against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night.
He's spending time over there with Damian Lillard, who is out for the year with a torn Achilles.
The good news for Henderson is that he should be back at some point, just not yet.
Why isn't Scoot Henderson playing tonight?
Scoot Henderson has been sidelined since late September with an injury.
On Sept. 26, the Trail Blazers announced that Henderson had sustained a left hamstring tear during an offseason workout.
At the time, it was announced that Henderson would return to basketball activities in four-to-eight weeks.
It's been about halfway through that 4-8 week timeline, and there hasn't yet been news on Henderson getting back on the court.
Last season, Henderson put up 12.7 points and 5.1 assists per game.
This season, he's likely learning not just from Lillard but also from newly acquired veteran Jrue Holiday. It's not a bad setup for Henderson to grow in his understanding of the game.
It would just be better if Henderson could get out there and work on whatever new things he may be learning.
