The New York Jets finally got their first win of the season during the team’s Oct. 26 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, which saw them earn a narrow 39-38 win, but it came at a price.
Coming out of the team’s bye week, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has confirmed some bad news that came as a result of the win over that win over the Bengals.
According to Glenn, Jets safety Andre Cisco will miss the remainder of the season. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler first reported back on Oct. 28 that Cisco suffered a pectoral tear in Week 8.
"Listen, Andre is out, he is out, he had a shoulder, and there are some other things that he is actually going to fix,” Glenn stated during a press conference on Monday. “He had an issue before that, so there are some other parts of his arm that he is going to get fixed too while he is getting his shoulder taken care of. He will be out for the season.”
Cisco’s injury is concerning news for the Jets. He was a big free-agency signing for the team, and he’s taken on a lot of responsibility on the field this season.

Cisco signed a one-year $8.5 million contract over the summer, including $7.5 million in guaranteed money, according to Spotrac. Before joining the Jets, Cisco had logged eight interceptions, 24 pass deflections and 229 tackles during his NFL career, according to Pro Football Stats research.
Cisco also started in every Jets game this season. So, the New York Jets have a glaring safety hole that they’ll have to fill.
The news could mean the Jets could be active ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline.
“Don't dismiss the possibility of the Jets trading for a player,” ESPN’s Rich Cimini stated in a piece out on Sunday. “Safety and offensive line are two position groups to watch.”
