The first points of Monday Night Football didn't even quite look like points at all.
The Arizona Cardinals had kicker Chad Ryland lined up for a field goal.
He was 48 yards out, and his kick began to fade toward the right upright.
It was higher than the upright, creating an immediate problem.
It appeared, visually, like it may have ended up wide.
But after the officials looked at one another, they ruled that it had gone through.
That gave the Cardinals a 3-0 lead on the Dallas Cowboys.

This kick actually started an odd discussion on X (formerly Twitter), with fans wondering why they don't just make the uprights higher. It's not like kicks ever go way, way over the uprights, just by the amount that this one did.
But on this night, that wouldn't help.
The Cardinals will take the three points, and the Cowboys will hope it doesn't decide the game.
