Lauri Markkanen has been the lone bright spot for a Jazz team that has gotten scorched defensively in its past three games.
Shot-blocking and rebounding specialist Walker Kessler is in Utah while dealing with left shoulder bursitis, leaving an already porous defense without its No. 1 contributor.
Offseason acquisition Georges Niang remains out with a stress reaction in his left foot, but Utah does get some good news on the injury front. Second-year PG Isaiah Collier is available to make his season debut after a hamstring issue kept him out for the entirety of the preseason and the first six games of the season.

Boston blitzed the Jazz, jumping out to a 10-0 lead before Utah scored its first points more than three minutes into the game. Utah missed eight of its first nine field goal attempts.
Keyonte George's commitment to doing the right thing — paint touches, moving his feet defensively — has been really good early in Boston.
Unfortunately, the rest of the starting lineup is not doing those same things.
A lot of jump shots and poor defense.

Keyonte George made three of his first shots while the other four starters opened 0-for-8 from the field.

Defensively, you can see Ace Bailey hasn't quite figured out the Jazz's switching scheme, but his effort has been excellent.
He runs hard and fights over screens well for a player his size. Knows how to get skinny to stick with the ballhandler.

The Jazz cut the deficit to three when Boston went cold late in the quarter. The Celtics led 25-21 after 12 minutes.
The best first quarter of the @utahjazz road trip, trailing the @celtics 25-21 after one.

Second Quarter
Will Hardy has already played 10 guys, and that doesn't include Isaiah Collier, who is available for the first time this season.
Still, felt the like rotation was tighter than in the last few games, a little more purpose on who is playing, and who isn't.
— Ben Anderson (@BensHoops) November 4, 2025
Both teams combined to miss nine of twelve shots to begin the second period. Utah wasted multiple chances to tie or take the lead until Walt Clayton Jr. hit a cutting Taylor Hendricks for a dunk.
The throwdown tied the game at 27 with 8:48 left.
With six minutes left in the first half, the @utahjazz trail the @celtics 39-29.
Defense has been much better than Sunday night, but the offense still can't find a groove.#TakeNotepic.twitter.com/uGtnzTXGcU

Following a timeout, Anfernee Simons and Jaylen Brown combined for a 12-2 run that gave Boston a 39-29 lead less than three minutes later.
At the half, the @utahjazz trail the @celtics 46-36.
Keyonte George is the only Jazz player in double-figures with 10 points. #TakeNote pic.twitter.com/YCkleC7txW

George was the only Jazz player to score in double figures, reaching ten points with a pair of last-second free throws. Lauri Markkanen had six points and six rebounds in 17 minutes.
Boston’s Payton Pritchard led all scorers with 15 points, making a trio of triples.
Both teams shot under 40 percent from the field in the opening half.
Third Quarter
George put the offense on his back, scoring seven straight points to cut the deficit to five with 7:53 left in the period. He scored nine of Utah’s first 13 points in the half.
Really can't say enough about him.
This is the best jump from one season to the next from a Jazz player since Rudy Gobert's year 3 and 4 jump.
It all looks very real.

The lead grew to 66-61 when George knocked down a step-back three, giving him 16 points in the quarter.
Keyonte George is absolutely COOKING as the @utahjazz lead the @celtics 66-61 late in the third.

Fourth Quarter
Utah’s increased intensity and defensive pressure continued into the final quarter.
With Brice Sensabaugh out of the rotation, a scrambling defense caused Boston to shoot 18.6 percent from deep (8-of-43) through 40 minutes of game time.

Utah’s offense went quiet after a Keyonte George floater gave them a 97-90 lead with 4:33 left.
The Celtics used the opportunity to rattle off six straight points and cut the deficit to one before George made one of two free throws to make it 98-96 Jazz with two minutes left.

— Ben Anderson (@BensHoops) November 4, 2025
Well, if you could read Will Hardy's lips, he wasn't thrilled that the refs called a 3-second violation with one minute left in a tied game, and he was probably right.
