IT WAS a tough test for Tyler Adams and Alex Scott in the midfield against Manchester City on Sunday.
Lining up against the likes of Bernardo Silva, Nico Gonzalez and Phil Foden in the centre of the park, the pair had a good battle but ultimately weren’t able to bring control for Bournemouth – although they were firmly in the game for much of the 90 minutes.
Adams felt he and Scott were able to compete well with the Citizens, but they must now use the game as experience to learn and grow.
“I think we went toe to toe with them for large parts of the game,” he told the Daily Echo.
“It's hard when they overload a midfield with eight players in the middle of the field.
“But again, that's the challenges that you face when you play a side that's so tactically good like that. You know, they've played against teams that press, they played against teams that sit in a low block.
“They're prepared for a lot of scenarios.
“Whereas we play one game a week, we don't always face different types of opposition and have the ability to have that experience and this is a game that we need to now use for experience.”
