The Dallas Cowboys' season has gone from bad to worse after a 27-17 home loss to the Arizona Cardinals that shone a bright light on this team's warts on national television.
And for some, no number of trades will help cover them up, especially on defense, where Jacoby Brissett looked like an All-Pro in the first half, going 15 of 22 for 158 yards and a touchdown.
Owner Jerry Jones made headlines pre-game (because, of course, right?) about making a trade or two before the deadline, and after the loss to the Cardinals, many are of the thought that those plans should be squashed because the defense is beyond saving under Matt Eberflus.
But speaking post-game, Jerry stated there is one trade on his mind, and he's leaning towards doing it.
"There is one that I can do," Jerry said via 105.3 The Fan. "Without question, there is one I can. There is not one, but there is one that I can do, and I'm leaning toward doing it."

Will trades help Cowboys defense?
You will be hard-pressed to find many people who think that any number of trades will help this defense this year, myself included.
It is why I am on board for a trade or two to happen, but only if it is for a player who will be at The Star beyond 2025 and if it isn't an overpay. Who that is, I don't know, but linebacker, EDGE, and corner are all urgent needs.
Will Jerry pull the trigger on a trade? It sounds like he might, but as we know, Mr. Jones likes to play up to the media, so time will tell. We have heard so often that "no one wants to win more than Jerry."
Well, now is the time to prove it. Your team is 3-5-1 at the bye, with a bad defense and an offense that is stuttering.
Your move, Mr. Jones.
