Seems Unlikely Bucs Go Get A Right Guard
November 4th, 2025
The PFF tribe speaks.
Joe thinks the Bucs seem to like their three-headed monster at right guard.
In New Orleans, the right guard of the day was mullet-wearing Dan Feeney. Previously, it was Luke Haggard and not-that Michael Jordan.
When Jordon started at left guard when the Bucs decided to shuffle the deck and have Graham Barton at left tackle and Ben Bredeson at center, Jordon did a solid job. Then he got hurt.
When Jordan played right guard, he wasn’t as solid. Maybe that was because he had limited snaps at right guard?
The reason Joe brings up right guard is that Josh Liskiewitz of the PFF tribe believes in order to make a Super Bowl run the Bucs need to get right guard shored up.
The Buccaneers remain potential contenders if they can get healthy, but they may need to make one or two deadline moves to stay afloat. While wide receiver could be an area of focus following Mike Evans’ season-ending injury in Week 7, the more pressing concern is the interior offensive line. Tampa Bay has been without guard Cody Mauch for most of the season after he suffered a knee injury on Sept. 15.
One Titans player yet to surface in trade rumors is veteran guard Kevin Zeitler, who would be an ideal rental candidate for the Buccaneers. While his play has been closer to average this season in Tennessee, Zeitler was among the league’s elite last year in Detroit.
Well, the Bucs aren’t going to get a rental at right guard, at least not a decent guard. Cody Mauch is the long-term starter there. But Joe did a bit of research.
Per Spotrac.com, moving Kevin Zeitler would result in nearly a $9 million cap hit on the Titans. That’s a whole lot of cash to eat just to wash your hands of a guy halfway through the season.
Because of that, Joe doesn’t believe Tennessee will unload Zeitler.
Joe is still of the mind that the Bucs need a veteran receiver.
