The Dallas Cowboys are getting set to host the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football, but trade speculation is rampant leading up to Tuesday's 3 p.m. CT deadline.
Jerry Jones stoked the discourse when he revealed to Sirius XM on Monday that Dallas has multiple deals in the works, and that one is already finished, though it has yet to be announced. It's becoming increasingly likely that the Cowboys will have made at least one trade by this time tomorrow.
A report from insider Jordan Schultz has all but confirmed that. Per Schultz, the Cowboys have held discussions with multiple teams about defensive players. Those players include Bengals pass rusher Trey Hendrickson and linebacker Logan Wilson, and Dolphins pass rusher Bradley Chubb.
Latest Cowboys trade rumors will have fans split down the middle
My understanding is the #Cowboys have spoken to the Bengals on DE Trey Hendrickson and LB Logan Wilson, and to the Dolphins on OLB Bradley Chubb. They’ve had talks with other teams as well.

Hendrickson is a player worth getting excited about. He's been one of the NFL's most prolific pass rushers for the last handful of years, racking up 17.5 sacks in each of the last two seasons and tallying at least 13.5 sacks in four of the last five seasons.
The only drawback is his age. He'll turn 31 in December. And he is out of a contract after the season. Any trade would almost certainly need to come with an extension agreed to in advance. It would make zero sense to acquire Hendrickson as a rental.

Sure, he's older, but keeping him for multiple years aligns with Dallas' window while Dak Prescott is under contract and playing at a high level, even if acquiring him doesn't do much to fix the defense this year.
Wilson and Chubb don't move the needle much, but the Cowboys' linebacker play has been so wretched this season that Wilson would be a godsend. He's been benched by the Bengals, who somehow have a worse defense than Dallas, and feels like a lock to be on a new team on Tuesday.
While a Hendrickson or Wilson trade would generate reasonable excitement, trading for Chubb would not be well-received by fans. At 29 years old and coming off a torn ACL, he's not much better than what Dallas is currently deploying off the edge.
Chubb has a $31.2 million cap hit next season. The Cowboys can get out of his contract pretty easily, but he's currently sporting a 55.6 pass-rush grade, which ranks 100 out of 114th edge defenders, per Pro Football Focus. He is 37th in total pressures and tied for 63rd with a 9.8 percent pass-rush win rate.
Chubb is not worth the investment, but it sounds like Dallas is interested, which means Tuesday is going to bring elation or absolute carnage to social media.
