Jerry Jones Makes Viral Trade Announcement
Following the MNF loss, Jones walked back some of his earlier conviction about making moves, with Jon Machota of The Athletic reporting that the owner “doesn’t sound as convicted” as he did before kickoff.
Still, the 82-year-old couldn’t help but dangle another carrot in front of the fan base, teasing that something could go down before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline.
Earlier on Monday, Jones told reporters exactly what everyone expected from him after seeing the Cowboys’ fatigue in the defense lineup. “There is one that I can do,” Jerry said via 105.3 The Fan.
He added, “Without question, there is one I can. There is not one, but there is one trade I can do, and I’m leaning toward doing it.” In typical Jerry Jones fashion, he was again successful in keeping reporters guessing, providing just enough information to send Cowboys Nation scratching their heads. However, he confirmed that the papers are ready.

Dallas is buying, not selling, despite sitting three games under .500. With the defense ranked near the basement in almost every major category, everyone knows the franchise desperately needs help on the defensive line, especially after trading Micah Parsons to the Packers earlier this year.
Jones’ cryptic postgame comments immediately fueled speculation about who the Cowboys might be targeting. According to fans and insiders, the franchise is focusing on a short list of proven defensive playmakers across the league.
NFL Fans Predict Jerry Jones’ Trade Target
Cowboys fans didn’t waste time throwing out names.
One optimistic fan declared on X, “TREY HENDRICKSON YOU ARE A COWBOY,” dreaming of the Bengals’ pass rusher landing in Dallas.
Another Cowboys supporter tempered expectations, writing, “I can’t trust anything at this point but I can still have hope.”
A Bengals fan jumped into the mix, suggesting, “I’m a Bengals fan. Logan is a good player and an incredible locker room guy. He would immediately upgrade your LB room.”
