Middlesbrough manager Rob Edwards is very much in Wolves’ thinking as they look for their new head coach and his release clause will not put them off, TBR Football understands.
Wolves sacked Vitor Pereira after a winless start to the season, which leaves them bottom of the table with just two points.
TBR Football previously revealed that a host of names had already been considered to replace Pereira, including Gary O’Neil.

However, as we revealed on Monday, O’Neil walked away from a Molineux return.
Meanwhile, Rob Edwards, who has taken Middlesbrough up to second in the Championship this season, remains a person of interest, and we have an update on the situation.

Sources: Rob Edwards would consider Wolves return
TBR Football can share via our chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, that Wolves have done work on Edwards, who has strong links with the Black Country outfit.
Born in nearby Telford, Edwards is a former Wolves player but also spent time at the club coaching the U18s, U23s, first team, and also had a spell as interim manager.
Wolves had been closing on a deal for O’Neil, and he had agreed to make the return to Molineux, but those talks broke down.
The Old Gold insist they are assessing options, but Edwards is someone they are looking at closely and sources confirm that he does have a release clause in his Middlesbrough contract.
Edwards only joined Boro in the summer and is happy, but the lure of a return to the Black Country is believed to be something he would consider.
Bailey said: “I am told that Edwards’s release is not something that would frighten off any Premier League club. The problem Boro have is that Edwards has a really strong connection with Wolves and they do like him.
“He is not the only candidate and with the international break coming next week, they don’t need to get their new guy in this weekend but they do want him in sooner, rather than later.”
