CLEVELAND, Ohio — Lonzo Ball plays the game a step ahead, sometimes two. And for a Cavs team still learning his rhythms, that’s both a blessing and a temporary source of disarray.
Two weeks into Ball’s tenure in Cleveland, the 6-foot-6 guard is already bending the offense in ways few players in the league can. His reads are instantaneous, his passes are anticipatory, and his sense of tempo is improving how the Cavs move the ball.
