Crystal Palace’s Director of Academy Recruitment Wesley Awad has left the club to join Birmingham City, the News Shopper understands.
Awad has already served his notice period at Selhurst Park and is due to begin work at Birmingham’s recently upgraded Category One academy.
He joined Palace in 2019 as Head of Youth Development Phase Recruitment before being promoted to Director of Academy Recruitment in 2023.
During his time at Palace’s £20m academy, Awad oversaw all aspects of recruitment and was responsible for signing Justin Devenny from Scottish club Airdrie for £150,000.
Devenny, 22, has since made 42 appearances for Palace’s first team and nine for Northern Ireland.
