According to a recent report from SPORT, it has been learned that super-agent Jorge Mendes has expanded his influence at FC Barcelona, this time by taking Marc Casado under his representation.
The Portuguese powerhouse continues to strengthen his presence within the Blaugrana structure, already managing several key players such as Lamine Yamal and Alejandro Balde.
With Casado’s decision to switch agents, many inside the club believe this move could significantly affect his career trajectory, especially considering that the young midfielder refused all offers to leave last summer.
Important player for Barcelona
Casado is highly regarded within Barcelona’s sporting hierarchy. His market value has risen notably since last season, along with his on-field importance under Hansi Flick, particularly following Pedri’s injury.
Although his playing time has fluctuated this season, Flick’s trust in the youngster remains clear, as the 22-year-old continues to earn opportunities during the club’s injury crises.
Notably, during the last transfer window, Premier League clubs made several lucrative offers for the midfielder.

However, Casado rejected them, choosing instead to remain in Catalonia and fight for a place in Barça’s starting XI.
The club, facing a fragile financial situation, had even been willing to negotiate a sale if an offer close to €35 million arrived, but everything was halted by Casado’s decision to stay.
What now for Casado?
Now, with Mendes overseeing his future, speculation has reignited.
It is expected that by June 2026, movement could take place should Barcelona need to balance their books or fund new arrivals.
Meanwhile, the super agent is reportedly negotiating to add another Blaugrana player to his portfolio from January 1, although no name has come out so far.
It goes without saying that Mendes’ ever-expanding influence means that he is set to play a decisive role in shaping the club’s short and long-term transfer plans, both at senior and academy levels.
