Nottingham Forest are said to have reignited their interest in Palmeiras teenager Riquelme Fillipi ahead of the January transfer window.
The Reds were first linked with the 19-year-old attacker in the summer of 2024. At the time, it was reported that an offer in the region of £4-5 million was initially green-lighted, only for Palmeiras to change their mind.
Fast forward little more than a year and Forest are eyeing up the Brazilian once again. It seems this time they could face some competition for his signature.
According to Brazilian publication Nosso Palestra (via Sport Witness), Riquelme’s representatives have travelled to England to speak with clubs interested in signing him when the transfer window reopens. The Reds and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both said to fall into that category, with Wolves having also eyed him up in the past.
Negotiations with Russian outfit Zenit Saint Petersburg are also said to have taken place. Their interest emerged earlier this year but although talks ‘did not progress’, it appears the club remain keen.
Riquelme, who can operate as a winger or as a striker, is said to be eager to make the switch to Europe. As one of the bright talents of Palmeiras’ academy, the Brazilian side have reportedly placed a €15m (£13m) price tag on his head.

A Brazil international at youth level, the youngster played a key role for his country when they landed the South American Under-17s Championship in 2023. Porto and Paris Saint-Germain have previously been credited with an interest in him.
Forest have utilised the South American market well in recent transfer windows. They already have seven Brazilians on their books in John Victor, Murillo, Morato, Jair Cunha, Douglas Luiz, Igor Jesus and Cuiabano. The latter is currently on loan at Botafogo but is due to return to the City Ground in January.
Signing young players with the potential to improve has formed a key part of the Reds’ business of late. After a busy summer, in which they made 13 signings, a quieter winter window is likely to be on the cards.
Recently-appointed head coach Sean Dyche will no doubt have his own views on what may be required. The former Reds youth player has a big squad to deal with as he looks to turn around the club’s fortunes.
