Club ‘considering’ player after Leeds exit – Considerd a ‘valuable asset’ despite Elland Road spell

Joshua Guilavogui could have found his next club after leaving Leeds United in the summer. And it might be another former club, VfL Wolfsburg.

[That’s according to Sky Sports’ Switzerland](https://www.sky-sport.ch/fr/articles/le-vfl-wolfsburg-en-crise-un-retour-de-josuha-guilavogui-envisage-simonis-menace/), who report that the German club are ‘considering’ the former Leeds man.

Guilavogui has been a free agent since the summer. The midfielder was released by Leeds’ side in the summer, with Daniel Farke not electing to take him into the Premier League.

The midfielder had moved to Elland Road last year to boost their options but only made 16 appearances totalling 49 minutes as Leeds returned to the Premier League last season.

The 35-year-old has spoken fondly of his time at the club since. Indeed, last week he admitted Leeds had only added a nice layer to an already special career. He’s also hinted he’s not quite ready to give that career up just yet, despite his age.

And now it appears he may not have to. According to Sky, Wolfsburg are considering bringing the midfielder back. He is seen as a ‘valuable asset’ who could provide stability to a dressing room ‘lacking direction’.

Several voices internally at the club have already spoken in favour of bringing Guilavogui back to the club. They believe his ‘mentality’ and knowledge of the club could be crucial during a difficult period. He made 239 appearances for the German club from 2014 to 2022.

Now he could be set for a second spell and the chance to extend his career after leaving Leeds in the summer.
