Aston Villa may have been handed a boost in their pursuit of youngster Kenny Quetant. Indications are the 19-year-old will sign his first professional contract abroad.
[That’s according to Foot Mercato](https://www.footmercato.net/a572821369013535378-le-havre-kenny-quetant-va-signer-son-premier-contrat-pro-a-letranger), who say the Le Havre youngster could be set to move abroad in the coming months.
They explain that Le Havre have become a real talent factory in recent years. That’s due to their ‘high-quality youth academy’ continuing to produce talent.
The issue is that this talent has started to move away from the club. The French side are facing a ‘real talent drain’. Quetant is the latest who could do so. He is currently on a trainee contract with the Normandy club. And he has suitors in Europe.
He was ‘notably targeted’ by Aston Villa this summer. In fact, a report back in May stated that Aston Villa were in ongoing discussions to sign the youngster.
Things are now moving forwards and Foot Mercato’s sources indicate that Quetant is expected to sign his first professional contract abroad. There is a belief he will follow Enzo Kana-Biyik, who joined Manchester United in the summer.
That’s not to say he will join Manchester United, or Aston Villa, but rather he will be leaving Le Havre to join a foreign club. Given Aston Villa were at the front of the queue in the summer, it’s likely that they’ll be linked again.
