Hull City are setting their sights on a third consecutive away victory in the Championship as they head to Pride Park on Tuesday night, a win that could propel them into the top six. They'll head their full of confidence, boosted by the recent goal run of Leeds United loan man Joe Gelhardt, who himself is 'buzzing' from the best patch of form in his career to date.

Hull's opponents, a revitalised Derby County team, are currently enjoying a three-match winning streak having recently secured two hard-fought home victories and a 3-1 triumph over Sheffield United on Saturday.

However, City are not to be underestimated, boasting an unbeaten run of six games. Their recent 2-0 victory against Norwich City marked their fourth win in this series of matches, and their impressive points haul has seen them climb to seventh place, just shy of the top six due to goal difference.

A key player in this successful run is Gelhardt, who scored his fourth goal in as many games at Carrow Road, bringing his season total to six goals in 13 matches. Should he score again in the East Midlands, he would surpass injured Oli McBurnie as the Tigers' leading scorer.

Speaking to Hull Live, the Tigers' star said: "When you're on good form, you want the games to come thick and fast, so I'm buzzing for Tuesday," adding, "I can't wait, hopefully we go there, get another three points, that's what our aim will be. Rest and recover till then, and then we've got another big one on Saturday with Portsmouth, and we'll try to beat them as well.", reports Hull Live.

"You want them to come thick and fast when we're on this type of form and we're feeling confident going into every game. We know what we're capable of, so we've just got to keep applying that to our game and hopefully we pick up as many points as we can in the next two and then in the busy November and December period."

It's a big difference to the frustration he found this time last year when he played just twice in the Championship for Leeds before heading to Hull in the January transfer window. It had looked like he may return to the MKM Stadium on a permanent deal this summer, but Hull's transfer embargo put an end to that plan, with a loan deal signed instead.

Now the attacker is focussed on helping his new team as they push for the play-offs or beyond. Gelhardt believes the squad's commitment and determination will be vital as they look to maintain their upward trajectory in the table.

"That's the thing in this league, every team's good. You don't get a bad team in this league; it's a high-quality league, so sometimes you do have to suffer," he admitted.

"Take your chances when you come, and I think certainly in the first half we were defending well, and then once we got the goals we defended well as well, and that's what you've got to do. You've got to soak up pressure and catch teams on the break sometimes, and I think that's a strength of ours as a team.

"We can play as well when we have the ball. Away from home, it's always a lot more difficult, so credit to the lads for digging deep and getting the three points."
