Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon offered up a lukewarm response when asked if quarterback Kyler Murray will return to the starting line-up once he is fully healthy.

'Monday Night Football' saw the Cardinals take on the Dallas Cowboys amid the ongoing dispute between YouTube TV and Disney, which left former Arizona star J.J. Watt frustrated. With Murray currently sidelined due to a foot injury he sustained in Week 5, Arizona has been starting Jacoby Brissett in his place, with the latter having overseen an offensive spark for the Cardinals.

At AT&T Stadium, Brissett led Arizona to a 27-17 win over the Cowboys, with the backup turned starter throwing for 261 yards and two touchdowns, while also adding a score on the ground too. The 32-year-old has started Arizona's last three games, with the Cardinals now sitting at 3-5 following their Monday victory.

In place of Murray, Brissett has impressed. However, when asked by reporters about just who will start for Arizona once Murray returns from injury, head coach Gannon offered up a lukewarm response.

While he told reporters postgame that Murray will be Arizona's starter when healthy, stating "nothing's changed on that," it is noticeable just how unconvincing the Cardinals coach was in response to the question about who should be their quarterback.

When asked by reporters about whether Brissett's play had potentially earned him more playing time, Gannon added: "I've got nothing to add on that, guys."

However, Gannon did offer up plenty of praise for how Brissett played against the Cowboys. "He battles," Gannon said of Brissett to reporters.

"He gets up and battles. He's got us out of the hole a couple times here now in the last couple games, and we can't take negatives. We got to do a better job of that, because they [Dallas] did generate some negatives."

"But he's resilient. Bounces back and plays the next play."

For Brissett himself, he is simply focused on taking things game by game, with the 32-year-old veteran refusing to be drawn on the prospect of becoming Arizona's full-time starting quarterback.

"I don't get into that stuff, man. I'm just trying to go out here, win the game, be a good teammate and do the best that I can when I get my opportunity," said Brissett.

He added when asked if he believes he is responsible for the Cardinals' improved offensive showings: "I don't think it's me. I really don't. I think it's just, everybody gets caught up in the beginning of the season ... the good teams in this league finding ways to continue to get better."

However, that offensive improvement could be tested this weekend, with Arizona travelling up to the Pacific Northwest to take on Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks, who dismantled the Washington Commanders on Sunday night, 38-14, to move to 6-2 on the year.
