Kendrick Perkins is paying close attention to the NBA and all of the explosive teams that are making noise at the start of the season.
Like many others, he has been in awe of what Luka Doncic of the Los Angeles Lakers can do.
But it’s not just Doncic who is impressing Perkins, as Austin Reaves is also leaving his mark.
Writing on social media, Perkins praised the combination of Doncic and Reaves.

Doncic has gotten off to a historic start in 2025-26, averaging 41.3 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 8.3 assists so far.
Granted, he’s only played in four games because of injury, but it’s been a legendary four games for Doncic, and he is doing things that few other NBA players ever have.
Meanwhile, Reaves has been phenomenal as well.
Without Doncic and James, Reaves has been carrying the team and is producing 31.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 9.3 assists.
He has been a key reason why the Lakers were able to find big wins when Doncic and James were sidelined.
And together, these two have become explosive.
They have both taken a step up during the summer, and the Lakers are currently generating a lot of attention.
They are 5-2, and their backcourt is being celebrated by everyone, including Perkins.
Fans love what they are getting from Doncic and Reaves, and some people are actually worried about what will happen when James is healthy.
There is a chance that he could disrupt the good thing that Doncic and Reaves are building and might throw off chemistry.
Doncic and Reaves are playing so well together that certain fans are okay with James being off the court.
