Newcastle United have confirmed the exit of commercial chief Peter Silverstone after three years in the boardroom at St James' Park.
The arrival of CEO David Hopkinson has led to a 100-day review at the club but Silverstone has opted to leave for pastures new. Chronicle Live understands that the club's Director of People and Talent Dominica O'Neil is also expected to leave.
Silverstone has been placed on gardening leave but is understood to have opportunities lined up abroad. Silverstone's exit is the third high profile departure in the last month.
CEO Darren Eales also left his post for health reasons with Hopkinson taking his place. Newcastle chairman, Yasir Al-Rumayyan, said then: "Darren has played a vital role in the growth and success of Newcastle United in his three years as CEO.
"We thank him sincerely for his immense contribution to the club and extend our very best wishes to him and his family for the future..
"I would like to personally thank Darren for his friendship. He will always be welcomed at St. James' Park."
Director Jamie Reuben added: "I want to thank Darren for his exceptional leadership during a period of positive change on and off the pitch.
"We are all sorry to see him leaving Newcastle United, but his health and his family must come first and he leaves with the best wishes of everyone connected with the club."
Silverstone leaves the club on something of a high in terms of commercial success after landing the Adidas deal in 2023 and bringing back the German giants after a long absence to replace Castore.
Eales, speaking to Newcastle TV, reeled off the successful journey the club have been on in terms of commercial growth and said before he left: "In terms of revenue, we have gone from £140m in 2021 to the coming season because we are in the Champions League, it is going to be well north of £400m.
"So that is a compound annual growth rate of 24% which is unprecedented in world football. I think we stood up the retail from scratch thanks to the wonderful partners in Adidas.
"With The STACK we obviously had to buy the land, build it and create a community asset, not only on match days but during the week it has made a real impact."
Both United and Silverstone have been approached for comment.
