Jerry Jones seemed ecstatic that AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, would finally be hosting the NHL Stadium Series, as the stadium has hosted an array of different events from high school football, high-profile boxing matches, a Super Bowl and soon nine World Cup matches. He stated “Hosting the NHL Stadium Series with the Dallas Stars is another great example of the vision we’ve always had for what AT&T Stadium could be beyond football,”. During the announcement NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman stated that Jerry Jones has been advocating for an outdoor game to take place at the venue since the 2009 opening of the stadium.
This event will mark the second time that the State of Texas and the Dallas Stars will host an NHL outdoor game. The first took place in 2020 during the Winter Classic in front of 85,630 fans at a sold-out Cotton Bowl, which is the third-highest attended Outdoor Game in NHL history. At this famous venue the Dallas Stars defeated western conference foe the [Nashville Predators](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nhl/nashville-predators) 4-2.
The 2027 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas is set to take place on Saturday, February 20, 2027 and will broadcast on ABC. The opponent that the Dallas Stars will be facing off against has yet to be announced.
