Well, Jerry Jones decided to make a smart trade for the first time in a while, but Philadelphia Eagles fans aren't losing any sleep over it.
On the final day of the NFL's trade deadline, the Dallas Cowboys struck a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Cowboys would receive linebacker Logan Wilson in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick.
Wilson is a former third-round pick of the Bengals and has played the last five and a half years in Cincinnati. He's made 541 tackles, 25 pass deflections, 19 tackles for loss, 18 quarterback hits, 11 interceptions, six forced fumbles, 5.5 sacks, and three fumble recoveries in 76 games.
How much does Cowboys trade effect the Eagles in 2025?
Honestly, it's a smart move (for once) from the Cowboys as one of the NFL's worst defenses gets a solid tackler. Prior to getting injured last year, Wilson led the Bengals in tackles from 2021 through 2023.
Does it move the needle on the season for the Eagles? No. The Eagles are up by three games in the NFC East after Dallas got embarrassed on national television with their 27-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9. For the Cowboys to reach the Eagles' level, they will have to make a few more moves.
Philly's general manager, Howie Roseman, has stayed busy over the last week with trades for cornerbacks Michael Carter II and Jaire Alexander, as well as edge rusher Jaelan Phillips. That's potentially two impact starts and one reliable backup.
It seems unlikely at this point that a single trade the Cowboys made would be enough to get them into the postseason in an already competitive NFC. The Eagles are rolling their way to potentially winning the NFC East by early December and are currently ranked at the top of the NFC with their 6-2 record.

Dallas has some more work to do as the Eagles focus on bigger things than turning around their season. They are focused on repeating as Super Bowl champions.
