The team took a slow approach to identifying the injury, changing the description from “soreness” to “subluxation” a few days after it occurred. A subluxation is a partial dislocation of a joint. It sounds bad, but it often doesn’t result in any significant structural damage. Rehab involves managing pain and strengthening the shoulder to improve stability. Fortunately, it was Miller’s left shoulder, so that should make the recovery a little easier and make it less likely that this injury has a long term effect on him. You’d hate to see him have issues with his shot while trying to push through discomfort in his dominant arm.
While Miller will be re-evaluated in two weeks, that doesn’t mean he’ll return to the lineup then. That said, if rehab goes well, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Miller back on the floor before the end of the month, no worse for wear.
