Manchester United are ready to let Jadon Sancho leave for free, rather than activating the clause in his contract to stay for another year, talkSPORT have reported.
Sancho's time at Old Trafford has been a complete disappointment, failing to live up to the hefty price tag United paid for him from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. The English winger has been sent out on loan on multiple occasions, and he's currently with fellow Premier League outfit Aston Villa, where he's far from being a guaranteed starter in Unai Emery's team.
United paid a fee of around £70m to bring Sancho to the club, and it wasn't a huge surprise at the time, with the former Manchester City man flourishing in the Bundesliga. The fee paid now looks like a huge mistake in hindsight, with Sancho's career at Old Trafford seemingly over without making a real impact.

Jadon Sancho in action for Chelsea
According to a report from talkSPORT, Manchester United are ready to let Sancho leave for free when his contract expires next summer. The Red Devils have the option to extend his deal by an additional year, but they would rather risk him leaving for nothing than being stuck with his wages of £200,000-a-week.
Sancho is yet to make a league start for Villa since joining the club on loan during the summer transfer window, so there seems a small chance the Midlands club would be willing to pay a fee for him. Sancho has spent time out on loan at Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, and now Villa, with the former two clubs unwilling to buy him permanently.
As a result, United are considering the prospect of letting him go for nothing and getting him off their wage bill.
