Former Eagles Pro Bowler helped his old team in the best way imaginable

For the Philadelphia Eagles, who were able to watch the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys Week 9 matchup, they were hoping for a Dallas loss to take an even bigger lead in the NFC East. They got a little bit more than that with a retro moment for them as a hold flame sparked the Cardinals and Eagles' season.

Cardinals edge rusher and former Eagle Josh Sweat had one of the best games of the season in the black and red uniform. Sweat harassed Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott all night with a staggering five quarterback hits and two sacks. Adding on top of those great stats, Sweat had two tackles and two tackles for loss as the Cardinals picked up a much-needed 27-17 win on the road over the Cowboys.

Arizona finished with five sacks as a team and created three Cowboys turnovers. The Cardinals moved to 3-5 on the season, while Dallas dropped to 3-5-1.

Sweat turned back the clock and gave the Eagles the biggest assist of the season

Like Tyrese Maxey playing point guard, Sweat came up big and dished a massive assist to the Eagles, who were on their bye week. That win by Arizona helped Philly take a three-game lead in the NFC East over the Cowboys and have full control of the division.

Eagles fans are all too familiar with Sweat's dominant performance after spending the first seven years in the midnight green. He made the Pro Bowl in 2021 and led the Eagles in sacks with eight last year to help them win the Super Bowl.

This offseason, he left Philly for Arizona on a four-year, $76 million contract. That has worked out well for the Cardinals as Sweat has dominated even more than he did last year with 12 quarterback hits, seven sacks, and two forced fumbles in eight games.

Eagles might have some remorse for not bringing him back due to their edge rusher problems, but they should be satisfied with Sweat's performance with his new team. Also, a big thank you to Sweat for helping the Eagles out one last time with his great game against Dallas.
