The Dallas Cowboys are bringing in a veteran linebacker to try to help improve their inconsistent defense.
Dallas has traded for Bengals captain Logan Wilson, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
The move comes a day after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones acknowledged that there was a trade that he could make and said that he was “leaning toward doing it.”
Logan Wilson should help a Cowboys defense that currently ranks 31st in yards per game and points per game allowed.
A former Wyoming star, Wilson has recorded at least 100 tackles in four consecutive seasons, including last year when he finished with 104, despite missing seven games. He has 46 tackles through eight games in 2025.
Wilson led the Bengals in tackles three consecutive years from 2021-23, before finishing second on the team in stops last season.
Prior to being drafted by the Bengals, he was named first-team All-Mountain West in 2019 after recording 105 tackles and 4 interceptions at Wyoming.
The Bengals then drafted Wilson with the No. 65 overall pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
He appeared in 12 games and made 33 tackles as a rookie, before becoming a star for the Bengals in 2021 and beyond.
Now he is off to try and help the Cowboys, who are 3-5-1 on the season after falling at home to the Arizona Cardinals Monday night.
