No More Red: Honouring Ben Kinsella’s legacy

On Sunday, 26th October, at our home fixture against Crystal Palace, we honoured the memory of Ben Kinsella ahead of what would have been his birthday. Ben’s life was tragically taken in June 2008 when he was just 16 years old.

To mark the occasion, we welcomed Ben’s family and representatives from the Ben Kinsella Trust to Emirates Stadium. As a dedicated and passionate Arsenal supporter, Ben was celebrated throughout the stadium, with a special segment in the matchday show highlighting his enduring legacy and the vital work of the Trust.

During the pre-match activities, Farhan and Hiba were presented pitchside with No More Red shirts in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the community. As Ben Kinsella Trust Youth Ambassadors, they have consistently gone above and beyond, driving real change, and demonstrating courage, leadership, and dedication to keeping others safe.

This special pitchside moment celebrated their achievements and highlighted the positive impact Ben’s story continues to have on future generations. Ben’s father, George Kinsella, was also in attendance and joined us for a special interview.

George said, “It was a fantastic day for our family. We'd love to see similar campaigns on this topic across the sporting world to make an even greater impact towards reducing knife and violent crime.”

During the following week, on 29th October, our No More Red charity partners - Arsenal in the Community and the Ben Kinsella Trust - united for a special event, reinforcing our shared commitment to youth safety.

Young people from Arsenal in the Community programmes visited the Ben Kinsella Islington exhibition to take part in the impactful Choices and Consequences workshop. The session allowed them to explore Ben’s story, learn more about the crucial work the Trust does, and discuss the importance of making positive choices.

This experience provided inspiring insight into how Ben’s legacy continues to mobilise thousands of young people to stay safe and support each other. The event culminated with an engaging football session led by Arsenal in the Community coaches at our No More Red pitch at King Square Gardens.
