Dallas Cowboys trade for Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson

Nov. 4 (UPI) -- The Dallas Cowboys agreed to trade a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to the Cincinnati Bengals for linebacker Logan Wilson, the teams announced Tuesday.

Wilson, 29, totaled 46 combined tackles, four passes defensed and a fumble recovery over eight games this season for the Cowboys. The six-year veteran logged at least 100 tackles each season between 2021 and 2024. Wilson totaled 5.5 sacks and 19 tackles for a loss over the first 76 appearances of his career.

The third-round pick by the Bengals in the 2020 NFL Draft requested a trade last month. He signed a four-year, $36 million extension with the Bengals in 2023 and is under contract through 2027.

Wilson drew 65 starts through his first six seasons, but was benched in Week 6 and saw reduced playing time this year. Pro Football Focus gave Wilson the 40th-best defensive rating among linebackers who were in for at least 50% of the maximum snaps at the position through nine weeks of 2025.

He rated No. 12 among qualifying linebackers last season.

The Bengals, who allowed the most points and yards in the NFL this season, now hold eight picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, including two in the sixth round and two in the seventh round.

The Cowboys, who allowed the second-most yards and points this season, also own eight picks, including two fifth-round and two seventh-round selections.

The Bengals (3-6) and Cowboys (3-5-1) are on bye in Week 10.
