The Jacksonville Jaguars thought they had their top-two wide receivers for the 2025 season.
Things started very slowly for Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter, though, so there was some concern.
But in recent weeks, both had started to figure things out. That is, until Hunter got hurt.
It doesn't sound like a great outlook for Hunter, and the Jags signaled as much with a trade before the NFL's Tuesday deadline.
Jakobi Meyers is joining the Jaguars, who will send a fourth- and a sixth-round pick back to the Las Vegas Raiders, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Meyers played against the Jags on Sunday and is now a Jaguar himself.
Meyers had requested a trade over the summer but was not moved until now.

It's a this-year kind of trade for the Jaguars. Meyers is on an expiring contract.
The Jags have been a bit of a surprise, firmly in playoff contention. They felt they needed to get Trevor Lawrence another player to throw to.
In Week 9, Parker Washington actually stepped up in a major way as the WR2 with six catches for 90 yards. Meyers will provide a great addition to Washington and Thomas.
The Raiders getting rid of Meyers opens up snaps for rookies Dont'e Thornton and Jack Bech, and it signals a season they likely think isn't going anywhere.
It's a positive for the Jaguars, though. They have now shown their locker room they want to make a real run at the playoffs. Meyers' talent, and the message he represents, should both be a big boost to Jacksonville the rest of the way.
