CASPER, Wyo. — Casper native and Cincinnati Bengals star Logan Wilson will soon be suiting up with a new team for the first time in his professional career, as he was traded to the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday.
In return for Wilson — a defensive leader for the Bengals and the leading tackler on the team each year from 2021 to 2023 — Cincinnati will receive a 2026 seventh-round pick from Dallas. He was on track to again be the team’s top tackler in 2024, until a mid-season injury forced him to sit out the final six games.

In his team’s Week 8 loss to the New York Jets, Wilson appeared in just over a quarter of his team’s defensive downs, and he took the field for just under half in the week prior against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Thus far this season, Wilson boasts 46 tackles and a fumble recovery. The veteran linebacker has reached 100 tackles every season since 2021. Wilson’s best season came in 2023, when he led the team with 135 tackles and also pulled down four interceptions. His 11 interceptions over the past five and a half seasons are tops among all NFL middle linebackers.
The Cowboys hope Wilson’s addition can bolster their ragged defense, which is one of the worst in the league. Dallas currently allows 30.8 points per game, which is second-worst. Only the Bengals allow more, giving up 33.3 per game.
