Bucks’ Cole Anthony reveals team’s motivation after Myles Turner targeted by Pacers fans

The return of Myles Turner to his old stomping grounds for the first time since he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks in the summer was, as expected, full of drama. Against the Indiana Pacers on Monday night at Gainbridge FieldHouse, Turner was tirelessly booed by fans, who used to cheer for him in the same building.

Apparently, Pacers fans are still not over his decision to leave their team for a rival, especially just after Indiana reached the 2025 NBA Finals.

Turner said after the Bucks’ 117-115 victory over the Pacers that the treatment from Indiana fans was “disheartening.”

The former Texas Longhorns star big man played a decade with the Pacers and left via free agency, signing a four-year contract with the Bucks worth $108.86 million.

Amid the emotional night, Turner must have felt the support from his teammates, including Milwaukee guard Cole Anthony.

“Myles needed this and we all needed this for him,” Anthony said, per Michael Marot of the Associated Press (h/tFOX59). “This was a hostile environment for him, especially tonight. I think they booed him every time he got the ball or checked in the game, so I’m definitely glad we were able to get that done for him.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo also made sure that Turner would come out on top against his former team, as the two-time NBA MVP drained a game-winning bucket at the buzzer to also hand the Bucks their fifth win in the 2025-26 NBA season.

Turner had nine points, seven rebounds and five blocks versus the Pacers, while Antetokounmpo had a game-high 33 points to go with 13 rebounds.
