The cornerback position is one of the Green Bay Packers’ biggest weaknesses on defense. Their depth has weakened since Nate Hobbs suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain in Week 9 and is expected to miss at least the next two games. To make matters worse, outside of Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine, their backups, Bo Melton and Kamal Hadden, have never played a single defensive snap in the regular season, which is far from ideal.
Because of this, the Packers could be in the market for a veteran cornerback.

Asante Samuel Jr. remains unsigned through the first nine weeks because he is awaiting medical clearance. The former Los Angeles Chargers standout started experiencing stinger symptoms in both shoulders last season, underwent spinal fusion surgery in April, and is expected to be ready for the second half of the season. According to Easton Butler of The Packer Report, the Packers have inquired about his health since the offseason and could be interested in him once he clears.
Little backstory on Asante Samuel. We called earlier this season to check up on recovery. Today, we called for more info, CT Scan is next week. Surgery Nov.
We also called in the offseason, before news broke (publicly) about his neck. https://t.co/LVJnZTgmvf
